Where the hell did a year go!?!

I can't believe it's almost been an entire year since my first post. Well, that plan to keep this up to date as much as possible has epically FAILed!!

To be honest, I had completely forgot that I had started this blog up until a few days ago. I haven't really thought about it as I hadn't thought about what was actually happening in my life, it's just life, I just let it get on with itself and get carried along the way. But I figured that's the same for everyone so someone may like to hear about what's going on in mine.

So in summary:

  • We're getting married, 05/07/2014 is the big day.

                                                                  This is how I proposed.

  • I've been put in charge of organising the wedding, Alex has a bit of an attention issue so she will just be "supervising". I'm almost certain that this is going to get me in a lot of trouble..... on the plus side, I get to make a lot of the decisions :-D
  • I no longer work in retail (yey!), but I still don't work in the games industry (boo!). Working in a call center for a multinational trade merchants. The job isn't amazingly fulfilling but the hours are steady, money is ok and the future is secure.
  • I had been working on entries for the #1GAM (one game a month) challenge. I managed to "finish" one of them, but soon realised that it was something that I couldn't do on my own to a standard I would like and my efforts are best utilised by concentrating on my studies.
  • Currently working on another non-game related project, could lead me to either a great business idea or down a dead end road of stress and failure, so I'll keep that one quiet for now.
  • Alex is doing well in her new job as Website and Social Media Manager, so proud of how she's been dumped in the deep end and how brilliantly she is doing.
  • We now have a lodger, a friend of mine (now ours) for the past 6 or so years. He wanted to move to Ripon, we needed to save for the wedding/honeymoon/house and we had a spare room so that worked out nicely.
  • Now down to 2 rats, but have adopted 4 robo hamsters. A friend of Alex's was moving away and needed them to be re-homed, "They're all boys so no need to worry about breeding". They were not, luckily Alex re-sexed them and found that we had 2 boys and 2 girls before they had chance to mature and breed. These are now living in a multitude of cages in the flat, they have all developed some amazing climbing and escaping skills....
I'm fairly sure I've picked up on everything, though I have been known to be wrong, on more occasions than I'd like to mention.

I'll be making a concerted effort to keep up with the blog, it may not even be that interesting to most people but I'm going to do it anyway, just need to remember to do it this time :-P.
